Ms. Rony Brodsky
Director – Strategy | Impact Investing
Rony Brodsky is a tri-sector development economist, banker, and management consultant dedicated to inclusive and sustainable economic and community development. She has had the good fortune to contribute to a broad range of work contexts across five countries and three continents, including: serving as a senior advisor and management consultant to top government officials, financial regulators, and corporate and NGO leadership; facilitating the scaling up of large grassroots-led social enterprises; leading humanitarian relief programs; designing and managing large environmental studies and urban pilot programs; and financing startups, businesses, and real estate projects.
At the Harbor Bank of Maryland Community Development Corporation (the Harbor CDC), as Director – Strategy and Impact Investing, Rony leads portfolio management, the organization’s research and analytics platform, grant applications / fundraising, and various strategic projects. She also extensively supports capital and technical assistance provision to organizations, businesses, and startups as well as general management and strategy for the Harbor CDC. In addition to her functions at the Harbor CDC, Rony serves as Banking Officer and Director – Strategy and Impact Investing at the Harbor CDC’s affiliate the Harbor Bank of Maryland, a commercial bank and the only minority depository institution headquartered in Maryland.
Rony has an M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business; an M.P.A. in International Development from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government (Dean’s Award); and a B.A. in Economics with Honors from the University of Maryland (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa). She is proficient in Hebrew, French, Spanish, Russian, and English. Outside of work, she volunteers in elderly care, environmental research and consultation, and dance education.
